A responsive or mobile-ready website is absolutely essential.
A mobile website (aka: mobile web) is exactly what it sounds like, and refers to the use of browser-based Internet services to access websites, social media such as Twitter and Facebook, and other online venues available via the World Wide Web – all through a mobile device such as a SmartPhone or Tablet computer. In this case, usually wireless technology is utilized – hence the term “mobile.”
Until very recently in the history of virtual informational systems, a device had to be physically hard-wired to a fixed line in order for it to access the Web. With 21st century satellite and digital technology, however, those days are over! Now, via wireless tools and devices, we can access information almost instantaneously. More and more people are using their mobile devices “on-the-go” and sales of these mobile devices have skyrocketed in the past few years. In fact, the International Telecommunication Union reports that in just a few short years mobile device usage will far exceed the use of stationary desktop computers. People are more plugged in than ever, and with the rise of portable devices the need for “on-the-go” consumer-oriented messages also increases.
